Domestic Violence & Mental Health Counseling Program

About:

We provide comprehensive, trauma-informed, support to formerly incarcerated survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault. Our counseling services are both individual and group orientated. These services include domestic violence support groups, anger management support, and parenting skills. We are pleased to announce that we are now also providing evidence-based mental health counseling services to assist with the trauma experienced as a result of incarceration, re-entry, substance abuse, and COVID-19. Our Services are offered free of charge.

Program Group Objectives:

  • Learn dynamics of anger and domestic violence, including patterns and cycles and make appropriate behavioral changes.

  • Become accountable for one's behavior and stop blaming the victim.

  • Learn how current behavior is influenced by past experiences, and your belief system.

  • Provide the opportunity for women to explore who they are, where they are, and the circumstances that got them incarcerated

  • Provide women a space to understand the challenges of transitioning home

  • Explore financial, emotional, physical, and mental independence

  • Provide women with a space to explore and model healthy relationships

  • Provide a space for women coming home to focus on themselves and their children

  • Develop better communication skills and elevate self-esteem.

  • Learn stress management techniques, including problem-solving and methods of relaxation.
